I corridoi dell'Istituto di Fonetica dell'Università di Padova, alla fine degli anni '70, risuonano di suoni che non sembrano umani. Ci sono fischio, sdoppiamenti della voce, frequenze gravissime e acuti laceranti che fanno impazzire i grafici dei macchinari. Dietro il microfono c'è un uomo alto, con i capelli ricci e folti e uno sguardo magnetico: Demetrio Stratos. I medici e i ricercatori lo osservano sbalorditi: quell'uomo riesce a produrre due, tre, persino quattro suoni contemporaneamente con le sue corde vocali. Sta usando la voce non come mezzo per cantare una melodia, ma come uno strumento musicale totale. Nato ad Alessandria d'Egitto da genitori greci, Efstratios Demetriou cresce immerso nei canti liturgici bizantini, nella musica tradizionale araba e nello studio del pianoforte classico. Quando si stabilisce a Milano negli anni '60, la sua voce potente e l'anima soul lo portano al successo pop con i Ribelli, con cui incide la celebre Pugni chiusi. Ma la canzonetta gli va stretta. Demetrio sente che la voce umana è rimasta intrappolata in gabbie culturali e che è necessario liberarla, riportandola alla sua purezza primordiale. La svolta assoluta arriva nel 1972, quando fonda gli Area - International POPular Group. La band dà vita a una miscela esplosiva e inedita di jazz rock, avanguardia, musica contemporanea e testi fortemente politicizzati. All'interno di album capolavoro come Arbeit macht frei e Crac!, la voce di Stratos diventa un'arma d'assalto: urla, improvvisa, imita gli animali, frantuma le parole in fonemi puri e si lancia in vocalizzi a velocità folli che dialogano alla pari con i sintetizzatori e il sax. Parallelamente al lavoro con gli Area, Demetrio spinge la sua ricerca solista nei territori della pura avanguardia. In dischi come Metrodora e Cantare la voce, esplora la diplofonia e la triplofonia, studiando i limiti fisici dell'apparato fonatorio. Per lui, la liberazione della voce dal linguaggio articolato è una metafora della liberazione dell'uomo dai condizionamenti della società contemporanea. Collabora con poeti d'avanguardia, con il compositore John Cage e si esibisce nei teatri di tutto il mondo, lasciando il pubblico e gli scienziati a bocca aperta davanti a performance che rasentano lo sciamanesimo. La sua straordinaria parabola di ricerca si interrompe bruscamente nella primavera del 1979, quando gli viene diagnosticata una forma gravissima di anemia aplastica. Ricoverato al Memorial Hospital di New York, Demetrio Stratos muore il 13 giugno 1979, a soli trentatré anni, proprio il giorno prima di un grande concerto organizzato all'Arena di Milano dai suoi colleghi musicisti per raccogliere i fondi per le sue cure. Quel concerto si trasformerà in un gigantesco tributo spontaneo da oltre centomila persone, il saluto collettivo a un esploratore solitario che ha scardinato i confini della voce umana, trasformandola in pura energia antropologica. Σαν σήμερα το 2020 στα 89 του χρόνια, φεύγει απ' τη ζωή ο Ισπανός Αναρχικός Λούθιο Ουρτούμπια . Ο Ουρτούμπια ήταν γνωστός ως ο "Αναρχικός Ρομπέν των Δασών". Ήταν χτίστης και παραχαράκτης που αφιέρωσε τη ζωή του στον αγώνα ενάντια στην έννοια της ιδιωτικής περιουσίας και στη χρηματοδότηση επαναστατικών κινημάτων. Θεωρούσε τη ληστεία τραπεζών και την παραγωγή πλαστών χρημάτων/επιταγών ως "απαλλοτρίωση", δεν χρησιμοποίησε ποτέ τα έσοδα που αποκτούσε με αυτόν τον τρόπο για προσωπικό πλουτισμό και πάντα τα έδινε σε επαναστατικές ομάδες και ανθρώπους που είχαν ανάγκη ( το ένα τρίτο στις οικογένειες των φυλακισμένων Αναρχικών, το 1/3 στον επαναστικό αγώνα και το άλλο τρίτο για να μπορούν να ζουν στην παρανομία). Η επιχείρηση που πραγματοποίησε στα τέλη της δεκαετίας του 1970 πέρασε στην ιστορία των παγκόσμιων χρηματοοικονομικών επιθέσεων. Χρησιμοποιώντας το όνομα της Citibank, τύπωσε πλαστές ταξιδιωτικές επιταγές αξίας εκατομμυρίων δολαρίων και τις εξαργύρωσε σε όλη την Ευρώπη. Τόσες πολλές πλαστές επιταγές τέθηκαν σε κυκλοφορία, που οι μετοχές της τράπεζας έχασαν την αξία τους και το ίδρυμα βρέθηκε αντιμέτωπο με σοβαρή κρίση.Όταν συνελήφθη, κάθισε στο τραπέζι των διαπραγματεύσεων με τη Citibank. Μικρές στιγμές που τους χρωστάω ένα μεγάλο ευχαριστώ. Σε σένα κυρ Μανώλη στην Αθηνάς, όταν σου ζήτησα δουλειά. Είπες, «δεν έχω ανάγκη από κάποιο παιδί». Αλλά με πήρες στη δουλειά σου, γιατί είχα ανάγκη εγώ. Και έτσι μπόρεσα και τέλειωσα το νυχτερινό. Στους δυο μπάτσους την εποχή της χούντας, όταν ρίχναμε προκηρύξεις στον κινηματογράφο Εκράν. Και μας είπαν: «Τί κάνετε, ρε κωλόπαιδα; Πάρτε δρόμο πριν σας γαμήσουμε». Και μας άφησαν ξέροντας πως θα ξαναρίξουμε προκηρύξεις. Γλιτώσαμε έτσι βασανιστήρια και φυλακίσεις. Αλλά δεν ήθελε να το μάθει κανείς. Ακόμα έχω τη θύμηση μιας γλύκας στην ψυχή και στο στόμα. Και τώρα σε σένα Ίνγκριντ, στο προαστιακό τρένο στη Στοκχόλμη, που με είδες να τουρτουρίζω σε θερμοκρασία είκοσι υπό το μηδέν. Είδες τα ρούχα μου και με λυπήθηκες. 12 Ιουλίου 1967 Η Χούντα αφαιρεί την ελληνική ιθαγένεια από τη Μελίνα Μερκούρη και άλλους 7 Έλληνες, τιμωρώντας τους έτσι για την αντιδικτατορική τους δράση. Η Μελίνα δηλώνει σε όλα τα Ξενα ΜΜΕ: "Γεννήθηκα Ελληνίδα και θα Πεθάνω Ελληνίδα, ο Παττακός γεννήθηκε Φασίστας και θα πεθάνει Φασίστας" Μόνο στο θάνατο της μητέρας της τον Ιούλιο του 1972 και μετα απο τεράστια διεθνή πολιτική πίεση, της δόθηκε 12ώρη ειδική άδεια για να έρθει η Μελίνα στην κηδεία της μητέρας της. Κάποιοι παλιοί τη θυμόμαστε ακόμη αγέρωχη και μαυροντυμένη να προσπαθεί να πνίξει τα δάκρυα της στην Πατριάρχου Ιωακείμ και στο Α! Νεκροταφείο για να μη τη δουν οι Χουντικοί να κλαίει. Οταν ανοίχτηκαν οι φάκελλοι της Ασφάλειας με έκπληξη διαβάσαμε: «Να συγκεντρωθεί ό,τι έχει λεχθεί περί Μερκούρη από τους κομμουνιστάς και ιδίως από το ΚΚΕ και το οποίον να καταδεικνύη ότι η δράσις της εξυπηρετεί τις επιδιώξεις του κομμουνισμού εν Ελλάδι. Το ανωτέρω υλικόν θα πρέπει να χρησιμοποιηθεί εις πάσαν ευκαιρίαν διά να καλλιεργηθεί εις το εξωτερικόν η πεποίθησις ότι η εν λόγω ηθοποιός είναι κομμουνίστρια. Αλλά και ανεξαρτήτως της υπάρξεως ή μη του ανωτέρω υλικού επιβάλλεται να διοχετεύεται συνεχώς διά του ψιθύρου και διά δημοσιευμάτων ότι η Μερκούρη είναι κομμουνίστρια και εργάζεται όχι διά την Δημοκρατίαν αλλά διά τον Kομμουνισμόν». Γιατί σ' αυτή τη χώρα, ψηφίζουμε με κριτήριο αυτούς που δεν χωνεύουμε, κι όχι με προοπτική Ελπίδας Μέλλοντος Ραγιάδες ακόμη 200 τόσα χρόνια... κι η μέθοδος πάντα η ίδια. Tellos Filis
