Ο Ερνέστο Γκεβάρα ντε λα Σέρνα γεννήθηκε το 1928 στο Ροζάριο της Αργεντινής από μια αστική οικογένεια. Πάσχει από χρόνιο άσθμα από μικρή ηλικία. Σπούδασε Ιατρική στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Μπουένος Άιρες Τα πρώτα κιόλας χρόνια ο Cinquanta έκανε ένα μακρύ ταξίδι στη Λατινική Αμερική το οποίο είπε στο βιβλίο «The Motorcycle Diaries». Εδώ ήρθα σε στενή επαφή με τη βαθιά φτώχεια, την ανισότητα και την εκμετάλλευση. Εδώ ήταν που η ιδέα ότι μόνο μια επανάσταση θα μπορούσε να αλλάξει τα πράγματα που ωριμάζουν μέσα του. Το 1955 γνώρισε τον Φιντέλ και τον Ραούλ Κάστρο και εντάχθηκε στο "Κίνημα της 26ης Ιουλίου" πρώτα ως γιατρός και μετά ως αντάρτης. Το 1956 έφτασε στην Κούβα όπου διακρίθηκε για στρατιωτική ικανότητα, πειθαρχία και τιμωρία. Το 1959 οι επαναστάτες κατάφεραν να διώξουν τον Μπατίστα από την Κούβα. Μετά από αυτό το γεγονός, ο Γκεβάρα έλαβε Κουβανική υπηκοότητα, έγινε υπουργός Βιομηχανίας, πρόεδρος της Εθνικής Τράπεζας της Κούβας και ήταν επίσης διπλωμάτης. Το 1965 προσπάθησε να αλλάξει τα πράγματα και σε χώρες όπως το Κονγκό και η Βολιβία, αλλά χωρίς επιτυχία. Συνελήφθη στη Βολιβία από τον στρατό το 1967 και εκτελέστηκε την ίδια χρονιά. Τα τελευταία του λόγια ήταν "Ρίξε, δειλέ. Σκοτώνεις μόνο έναν άνθρωπο". Τρίβια: γιατί λέγεται και «Τι»; "Che" είναι μια λέξη που χρησιμοποιείται ευρέως στην καθημερινή γλώσσα στη Λατινική Αμερική. Εισάγεται σε οποιαδήποτε πρόταση πολύ συχνά. Εδω βλέπουμε μια μοναδική αγγειογραφια. Η δικη χτυπά την αδικία. Για τον ποιητή Ησιοδο όπου επικρατεί δικαιοσύνη οι πολιτείες ακμαζουν και οι λαοί ευημερούν.
