Dabsong Conshirtoe, by Caravan An epic track that takes most of the second side on the album Cunning Stunts, released this month in 1975. The 18-minute suite of music was co-written by John Murphy and Dave Sinclair. The intent was to name the album "Toys in the Attic", but that euphemism for insanity was taken by Aerosmith for their breakthrough album that included "Sweet Emotion". The band then chose a title based on a joke: Q: What's the difference between a magician's wand and a policeman truncheon? A: One's for cunning stunts, the other for stunning c***s. The Canterbury Scene at its best. Producer David Hitchcock was on a roll in that period. He worked simultaneously on that album and Renaissance's Scheherazade and Other Stories. He split his time between Cunning Stunts at Tollington Park Studios during the day and Scheherazade and Other Stories at Abbey Road Studios at night. Pye Hastings – electric guitar and acoustic guitars, vocals Dave Sinclair – piano, organ, synthesizer, keyboards, string co-arrangement on "No Backstage Pass", brass co-arrangement on "Ben Karratt Rides Again" and "Sneaking out the Bare Quare" Geoffrey Richardson – viola, electric guitar, Western concert flute, flute, night-shift whistle Mike Wedgwood – bass guitar, congas, vocals, Moog brass on "Stuck in a Hole", string arrangement on "Lover" and "No Backstage Pass" Richard Coughlan – drums Also: Jimmy Hastings – brass arrangement on "Ben Karratt Rides Again" and "Sneaking out the Bare Quare" David Hitchcock – producer The Music Aficionado https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1qh-watuQQ
