Silenzi in nero e vento salato Sul muretto bianco s’inerpica il giorno, una donna vestita d’ombra, col cappello largo come segreto antico, gioca col vento e con l’attesa. Accanto a lei, un gatto - guardiano delle cose taciute - stende il corpo al sole, ma fissa l’anima del mare. Non servono parole tra chi conosce il ritmo delle onde, tra chi ha imparato che l’eleganza è saper restare immobili davanti all’eterno. La Place de Catalogne, nel XIV arrondissement di Parigi, ha vissuto una straordinaria trasformazione. Un tempo piazza circolare pavimentata in pietra, progettata negli anni ’80 dall’architetto catalano Ricardo Bofill, è oggi stata completamente ripensata come una rigogliosa foresta urbana. Entro il 2024, oltre 470 alberi hanno ridisegnato lo spazio, trasformandolo in una vera e propria oasi verde nel cuore della città — un simbolo di rinascita urbana e sostenibilità.

Assad avrà avuto la sua porzione di colpe, ma il dato di fatto è che ha resistito per oltre 13 anni a una guerra per procura scatenata da potenze esterne con la complicità di traditori interni. Il popolo siriano non ha mai avuto davvero una scelta: si diceva “Assad o barbarie”, e alla fine hanno avuto la barbarie. Quindi grazie. Grazie a chi ha lavorato instancabilmente per smantellare lo Stato siriano. Grazie alle quinte colonne che, nell’ombra, hanno aperto le porte ai tagliagole travestiti da rivoluzionari. Grazie ai tradimenti, quelli interni e quelli esterni, degli alleati che hanno voltato le spalle quando non c’era più nulla da guadagnare. Grazie anche a quelle anime candide che si sono bevute la favola della “rivoluzione” e hanno fatto il gioco dei peggiori carnefici della regione. Un lavoro del cazzo, davvero. Un capolavoro di distruzione e regressione che ha riportato la Siria indietro di oltre cento anni. Da uno Stato sovrano, con tutte le sue contraddizioni e i suoi problemi, a un territorio frammentato tra signori della guerra, bande armate e terroristi in doppiopetto. E adesso? Qualcuno avrà almeno il coraggio di guardare il disastro e riconoscere il proprio fallimento? O continueranno a raccontarsi che era tutto per la democrazia? Mi piange il cuore, e sono nello sconforto più totale. Perché chi ama davvero la Siria, e ciò che significa in termini politici, non può che provare dolore di fronte a questo scempio. F. Quibla
