CAMILO CIENFUEGOS ll 28 ottobre 1959 se ne andava a soli 27 anni il volto luminoso della Rivoluzione Cubana , il signore dell’avanguardia il comandante del popolo Camilo Cienfuegos. “Sono certo, che se tu fossi a Cuba, resteresti sbalordito delle cose che qui avvengono. I soprusi sono tali, che solo chi ne é testimone può convincersi della loro realtà”. E’ da qui che parte la rivoluzione per Camilo Cienfuegos, da questa lettera che scrisse ad un amico nel 1956. Non gli fu però concesso di partecipare a lungo, dopo la vittoria sulla dittatura, alla costruzione della sua nuova patria: il 28 ottobre 1959, Camilo Cienfuegos moriva in un incidente aereo. Il suo cadavere non venne mai trovato e ancora oggi in ogni parte di Cuba la gente va in riva al mare o su un fiume e vi getta “una flora para Camilo”, un fiore per Camilo. Ma egli continua a vivere nella memoria di un popolo che si riconosce pienamente in colui che, semplice lavoratore, fu esaltato dalla rivoluzione a capo leggendario di un popolo che ha fatto proprio il motto: “C’é stato un Camilo, ci saranno molti Camilo”.
