Αὐτὸ τὸ ὑπέροχο ἑλληνικὸ χάλκινο κράνος, ποὺ χρονολογεῖται ἀπὸ τὸ 350-300 π.Χ., προέρχεται ἀπὸ τὴ Μεγάλη Ἑλλάδα, τὶς παράκτιες περιοχὲς τῆς Νότιας Ἰταλίας ποὺ ἀποικίστηκαν ἀπὸ Ἕλληνες ἀποίκους. Τὸ πιὸ ἐντυπωσιακό του χαρακτηριστικὸ εἶναι ὁ γρύπας, ἕνα μυθικὸ πλάσμα μὲ σῶμα λιονταριοῦ καὶ κεφάλι ἀετοῦ, ποὺ κοσμεῖ τὸ ἔμβλημα. Αὐτὸς ὁ τρομερὸς προστάτης ἦταν κάτι περισσότερο ἀπὸ ἁπλῆ διακόσμηση. Χρησιμεύει ὡς ἕνα ἰσχυρὸ σύμβολο δύναμης, ἐπαγρύπνησης καὶ θεϊκῆς ἐξουσίας, μὲ σκοπὸ νὰ ἐκφοβίσει τοὺς ἐχθροὺς καὶ νὰ προστατεύσει τὸν πολεμιστὴ ποὺ τὸ φοροῦσε. Κατασκευασμένο μὲ ἐξαιρετικὴ δεξιοτεχνία, τὸ κράνος ἀντιπροσωπεύει τὴν κορύφωση τῆς ἀρχαίας ἑλληνικῆς μεταλλουργίας, συνδυάζοντας τὴν πρακτικὴ προστασία στὸ πεδίο τῆς μάχης μὲ βαθιὰ καλλιτεχνικὴ ἔκφραση. Ὡς κειμήλιο τῆς Μεγάλης Ἑλλάδας, ἀποτελεῖ μιὰ ἰσχυρὴ ἀπόδειξη τῆς ἐξάπλωσης καὶ τῆς διαρκοῦς ἐπιρροῆς τοῦ ἑλληνικοῦ πολιτισμοῦ πολὺ πέρα ἀπὸ τὴν ἠπειρωτικὴ Ἑλλάδα. The Greeks invented the first alphabet by adding vowels to the Phoenician symbol-"alphabet" (the word alphabet is Alpha Beta, the first two letters in the Greek "alphabet") in 750 BC. This was not only the first alphabet in history, but also the subsequent evolution of other languages around the world. Communication became clearer, and vocabularies swelled, allowing for further intellectual dialogue and expression via written word. Esattamente 45 anni fa, nelle sale cinematografiche italiane, usciva uno dei migliori film di sempre, divenuto in poco tempo uno dei cult movie per eccellenza e un punto fermo della storia del cinema. Esattamente 45 anni fa, nelle sale italiane, usciva uno dei capolavori assoluti della filmografia del genio #StanleyKubrick, e con protagonisti due a dir poco magistrali Jack Nicholson e Shelley Duvall. Esattamente 45 anni fa, il pubblico nostrano conobbe quello che per molti è il migliore tra i film horror di sempre, nonché una delle trasposizioni cinematografiche più famose e amate delle opere letterarie del Maestro dell'orrore, Stephen King. Esattamente 45 anni fa, in Italia arrivava al cinema "The Shining", ovvero uno dei miei film preferiti, nonché quello che reputo la migliore opera di Kubrick dopo "Arancia meccanica".
