October 25, 1968 56 years ago today, Jethro Tull released their debut album, "THIS WAS" 🎶 The only album with guitarist Mick Abrahams, who left afterwards to form Blodwyn Pig, the title reflects his leaving, as well as a change in musical style from R & B/jazz towards prog rock. The album received fair reviews, but it was Tull's next three albums, leading up to 'Aqualung' in '71, that put Tull over the top.
